Description

Champagne brut Mlle Jeanne 2017 Richard Royer

Variety: Pinot Nero 60% and Chardonnay 40%

Intense straw yellow color shimmering with gold

The nose is intense, clean, clear and exciting. Vigneron’s hand, and the belonging terroir, maintain a trace similar to that of the previous thousandths. The aromas are of red and white currants, of yellow plum and passing to the chamomile and broom flowers. The cream and butter notes anticipate the freshest ones from the sea, seaweed and rocks. Even some subtle spices conquer the taster.

Overall, the panorama of the sensations evoked are very pleasant, so as to bring emotion.

On the palate it strikes for the balance, for the consistency and for the refinement of the bubble. Plenty of acidity and minerality prolong its sip, making it appealing. The perceived aromas are of citrus, fruit and sweet spices.

Even in this thousandth, a very great vigneron champagne is confirmed. Dedicated to the young daughter, Mademoiselle Jeanne.

The soil is composed of clay and limestone, dating back to the Kimmeridian period.

Age of the vineyard: the plants vary in age from 15 to 35 years.

The harvest takes place manually with separation of the different parcels.

During the pressing the juices are separated. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers for Pinot Noir, while Chardonnay is made in oak barrels.

It ferments in bottle for a minimum of 48 months.

From the eighteenth century, the Royer family runs the estate located in a small village of Cote de Bar, famous for its hills: Balnot sur Laignes. La Cote de Bar is geographically located south of the Champagne appellation, in the district called Aube. The cote de bar covers over 8000 hectares of vineyards.

Richard Royer, the current owner, is well aware of the need not to cling to the story, but to draw inspiration from it, to evolve and enrich oneself with knowledge. Experience, respect for the land and the desire for knowledge are the method by which the Vigneron Richard Royer cultivates his 13 hectares.
