The nose is characterized by fresh fruit such as pear and white peach, leaving the notes of butter and yeast in the background. On the finish, the scents that bring with it the sea wind emerge. The good acid shoulder, supported by punctual minerality, finds balance with the pleasant creaminess of the sugar alcohols. The ending is very long.
It is not by tradition that Larmandier-Bernier cultivates the vine in a completely natural way; it’s just because it makes sense. The creation of a great champagne, like the creation of a great wine, is born in the vineyard. In fact, in grapes there are the qualities and authenticity that no man could ever invent.
The recipe for good quality grapes is simple but demanding: old vineyards, soil processing, moderate yields; vines that thrive without using fertilizers to force growth and hand-picked ripe grapes.

Their vineyards – about fifteen hectares, with a 33-year average life – are located in the territories of the Côte des Blancs: Vertus, ranked premier cru, Cramant, Chouilly, Oger and Avize, all classified as grand cru.
But the terroir is not enough. The terroir is to wine, as the score is to music. To make a great musical representation, you need the score, which is the terroir, the vineyard, which is the instrument and the winemaker, which is none other than the performer.
This is why their vineyards are cultivated with respect to the terroir. Thus plowing promotes deep roots and regenerates the life of the soil, respecting the balance of the plant throughout the growing period.
