Albugnano 2017 Tenuta Tamburnin

Variety: Nebbiolo 100%

The grapes are grown in vineyards adjacent to the winery in Castelnuovo Don Bosco in the province of Asti. The soil is sedimentary with clay, limestone and in the superficial layers sand and silt.

Altitude: it is 350 meters above sea level, while the sun exposure is east, south / west.

Training system: espalier with guyot pruning.

The harvest takes place manually, and the grapes carry out alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, for a period ranging from 10 to 12 days.

After completing the malo-lactic transformation, it ages in 20 hectoliters oak barrels for 12 months. A steel passage follows for 4 months and after bottling it remains in the cellar to stabilize for another 3 months.

Albugnano 2017 Tenuta Tamburnin

Ruby red color, with light garnet veins.

On the nose we can smell splendid aromas of red plum and dark-colored berries: blackberry and blueberry. The violet among the flowers characterizes it further. Then they arrive on stage and put the scents of tree roots and bark, rhubarb, and cinchona in the center. Very well defined and highly commendable, the perfumes are distinguished by refined elegance.

On the palate it is confirmed to live up to expectations. The tannins stand out, endemic in the grape variety, on acidity and minerality. Yet the hot vintage and the wise work in the cellar let the tannic texture be the load-bearing element of the structure, but without being excessively astringent. The substance, which as a whole brings the wine on balance and harmony, is completely adequate. The aromas are of fruit and cinchona, for a long and persistent finish.

Excellent example of Nebbiolo, moreover from a less famous denomination of Barolo, Barbaresco and Roero. The price / quality ratio is advantageous for the customer.
