Description

Barolo Monserra Magnum 2008 Raineri

Variety: Nebbiolo 100%

Vivid garnet red in various shades.

Over ten years of aging, between wood and bottle, allow a sublime evolution to the nose. The larger format grants even more complex and finely declined aromas. Now it’s really Barolo. We have dried flowers of violet, rose and ripe plum. The notes deriving from the woods in autumn are more pronounced, with moss, chestnuts, broken branches and grass, to name a few. There is no shortage of cinchona and rhubarb. The notes of Goudron begin to be present, given by the time of refinement and by the superior format., Although they still remain at the margins. The aromatic herbs do not disappear and are highlighted in the thyme, and savory. Notes of sweet and spicy spices are added. Excellent evolution for a wine that is perfect.

On the palate it makes no defects. Time rewards him, with still well-defined hardness and softness set to perfection. The sip is deep and creamy so as to be harmonious and balanced. Embellished with aromas of china, tobacco and spices.

Excellent vintage with a few years of aging it has come to be perfect to drink now. Raineri’s Monserra stands out for being an excellent one Barolo, fully corresponding to the cru (Perno a Monforte) to which it belongs.
