Description

Provincia di Pavia Pinot Nero Calonga 2016 Bisi

Variety: Pinot nero 100%

Pale ruby red color.

The nose has persuasive and complex aromas. Those of the head, that is those perceived when the glass is still, are of berries, such as strawberries and raspberries and of red rose petals. By swirling the glass comes the classic undergrowth, with all the facets it contains. There are also some sweet spices, then sensations like toasted bread and blond pipe tobacco. You can also see the smells of the chicken coop. To conclude, some hints of ethereal, wax and sealing wax are already present.

In the mouth it keeps its promises, without any attempt to hide. He says it openly, without hesitation, and being proud of it: “I am a Pinot Noir”! The initial impact is noticeable, and is maintained at the height for the entire stay in the oral cavity. Substantial balance, for acidity and minerality on the one hand and glycerine creaminess on the other. On the back smell the aromas of fruit and beeswax come out clearly. Persistent and satisfying.

Oltrepò is one of the most suitable Italian wine areas for the production of quality Pinot Noir. Bisi’s is classic, fascinating and of great class.

It carries out the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature.

Refine in French oak barrels for 15 months. After another 6 months in the bottle in its cellars, it arrives on the market.

The Bisi company was founded in 1926 with the purchase of the first vineyard: the historic Roncolongo.
The further step is to build a cellar for the processing of the grapes harvested from the owned vineyard and the refining of the wines that derived from those grapes. From the beginning, Claudio Bisi’s grandfather had a clear goal: to produce quality wines.

Claudio Bisi represents the third generation, however the love for the land and the passion for wine have remained the fulcrum of all the activities and initiatives, which have determined the development and growth of the company to date.

The vines are cultivated by them according to the best tradition and with the utmost respect for the environment.
The grapes are harvested, selected and immediately vinified according to the biological rhythms of ripening. A consolidated experience guides all the subsequent phases to guarantee the maximum authenticity and quality of the wines: wines that are an expression of the territory from which the grapes come.
