Description

Amarone della Valpolicella 2015 Massimago

Corvina 65%, Corvinone 30% and Rondinella 5%.

Organic

Intense ruby red with garnet veins.

The nose has exuberant aromas of cherry jam and spice head. Whirling the glass we also distinguish the cherries in spirit, and various berries. Among the spices, cinnamon, cloves and black pepper. While among the toasted aromas the sweet tobacco and some chocolate points. It would be better to say it like Boero with rum.

On the palate it has great substance yet manages to be both elegant. The sweetness of the alcoholic grade and the pseudo-heat that it expresses, add up to the glycerine, for a sumptuous picture of softness. Among the harshness minerality wefts are highlighted. once swallowed aromas of aromatic herbs and bush berries, typical of the Mediterranean scrub, reach the nasal passages. Very persistent.

Very elegant Amarone. A great Venetian red wine.

Amarone della Valpolicella 2015 Massimago

In Massimago they cultivate the grapes dedicated to the production of Amarone in the Macie, Giordane and Giare vineyards.

From grapes grown following the principles of organic farming. The certification was reached in 2014, therefore only from that year will it be able to boast the green leaf on the label.

Soils: they are clayey, with marls and layers of limestone. The planting layout foresees a density of 7000 vines per hectare, and the vineyard training systems are Guyot.

Harvest takes place around the end of September and is carried out by hand. The grapes are selected in the vineyard and once the bunch is cut, it is placed in small boxes. Taken in the fruit cellar wither for a period ranging from 80 to 100 days, with accurate control of humidity and temperature.
Before the alcoholic fermentation a cold maceration is carried out for five days. The contact with the skins at low temperatures increases the extraction of primary aromas and body of the future wine. Once the alcoholic fermentation is finished, they let the malolactic fermentation take place and then the aging in French oak barrels starts for a period of 2 years. After a further 12 months of bottle arrives on the market.
