Description

Barolo 2013 Brovia

Variety: Nebbiolo 100%

Barolo is produced with grapes from different vineyards located between the municipality of Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba. The soil is clayey and calcareous with a higher percentage of limestone.

Vineyards have an altitude ranging from 250 to 350 meters s.l-m. The exposures are South, South-East and South-West.

The vineyards were planted in 1971, 1974 and 1993.

Manual harvest carried out in mid-October.

Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of about 28 ° C for a period of time ranging from 15 to 20 days.
It is aged in Slavonian and French oak barrels of large and medium size for about two years.

The wine is bottled without filtration and remains for at least another two years.

Barolo 2013 Brovia

Ruby red color with light orange nuances.

The nose has beautiful aromas of fruit from the trunk, dried fruit and withered flowers. Very elegant, with extreme finesse of the whole. There are also spices and some ethereal features.

On the palate it has great shape and great substance. Wonderful the tannins, well present but not aggressive, and together with the minerality it draws a really commendable profile of hardness. Even the volume, like all Baroli worthy of respect, contributes to making it, not only valuable, but suitable for slow and long maturation. Once swallowed, it gives us aromas of withered petals and undergrowth.

The Brovia‘s Barolo is a constant, year after year it is confirmed as one of the great Baroli.

It very happily goes well with grilled Fassona filet with dark berries, braised hats with Nebbiolo and polenta taragna, sautéed porcini mushrooms with whole grain polenta.
