Barolo 2017 Castello di Perno

Variety: Nebbiolo 100%

Pale ruby ​​red with garnet veins.

The nose is intense and classy. It shows clear aromas of red fruit such as plum and blackberry. Followed by violet among the flowers, and some notes of aromatic herbs. The undergrowth with porcini mushrooms, cinchona and rhubarb further connote it.

On the palate it is powerful and elegant, with the dense texture of tannins in full evidence. However, Form and Substance manage to blend in harmony to create a fabulous wine. The aromas are of blueberry, rhubarb and flowers.

It has the ability to age happily for several years, becoming one of the best Barolos ever.

It accompanies tajarin with ragù, grilled vegetables, grilled beef, and aged cheeses. Excellent with game. both fur and feather.

Barolo 2017 Castello di Perno

Produced with grapes from the youngest plants, coming from the Castelletto vineyard, in Monforte d’Alba. .

The soil is clayey and calcareous, with a notable presence of sand and marine fossils.

The type of farming is espalier with Guyot pruning, with one per hectare of 65 quintals.

After the harvest, carried out manually, it carries out cold maceration for 48 hours. De-stemming follows, fermentation starts with maceration for a period of about 30 days.

It carries out the malolactic transformation and refines in large Austrian and French oak barrels for at least 24 months. after bottling it remains in the cellars of Castello di Perno for at least another 16 months.
