Barolo Castelletto 2017 Castello di Perno

Variety: Nebbiolo 100%

Pale ruby ​​red with garnet veins.

The nose is elegant, intense and diversified. The notes are clearly distinguishable and with clean and fascinating tones. It features classic aromas of violet and red plum. Ideas of carob anticipate those of chestnuts and dried mushrooms. Aromatic herbs and sensations of brine, with olives and anchovies. Very good and very well designed.

On the palate it is great. It has a remarkable array of tannins and minerality, but also volume and creaminess. He occupies the palate with authority, remaining firm in his convictions and voluptuous in his ways. The memory it leaves is very persistent, embellished with aromas of blackberry, rhubarb and basil.

It has the ability to age happily for several years, becoming one of the best Barolos ever.

It accompanies tajarin with ragù, grilled vegetables, grilled beef, and aged cheeses. Excellent with game. both fur and feather.

Barolo Castelletto 2017 Castello di Perno

Produced from the selection of the best plants, coming from the Castelletto vineyard in Monforte d’Alba.

The soil is clayey and calcareous, with a notable presence of sand and marine fossils.

The type of farming is espalier with Guyot pruning, with one per hectare of 65 quintals.

After the harvest, carried out manually, it carries out cold maceration for 48 hours. De-stemming follows, fermentation starts with the use of indigenous yeasts created with a pied de cuve for a period of about 35 days.

It carries out the malolactic transformation and refines in large Austrian and French oak barrels for at least 18 months. It finishes its refinement in concrete containers.
