Produced with Nebbiolo grapes from the famous vineyard “Vigna Rionda” (sheet 8, parcels No. 79-80-81-82-84-85-86) located in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba.
Altitude is 330 meters s.l.m. and the total area is 2.3 hectares.
Soil type: marly limestone.
Training system is espalier with traditional Guyot pruning and the planting variety varies between 6,000 vines per hectare in the oldest part of the vineyard and 5,000 in the younger one.
Average age of vines: 30 to 50 years.
Yield per hectare: 45 quintals.
The harvest is done manually, in the second half of October.
First year of production: 1982.
Barolo traditionally produced with fermentation and maceration of 25-30 days at a temperature ranging between 31 and 33 ° C.
It matures for 6 long years in total, of which 3,5 in barrels of about 30 hl in Slavonian oak and 2,5 in bottle.

Intense garnet red
A truly exceptional nose for intensity, power and class. From hints of violet and geranium, to red plum. The undergrowth, with dried leaves, chestnut hedgehogs and porcini mushrooms precede the first hints of the characteristic “goudron”. With aging, the already considerable complexity increases, turning it into the wonderful wine that it can become.
On the palate confirms the many expectations. Powerful and elegant together, it has in the well-defined tannins the greatest among the hardnesses. The great structure, the excellent alcohol concentration, and the excellent consistency give it balance and harmony. Particularly suitable for long aging.
Accompany happily meat dishes, both beef as braised, feathered and fur game. Thanks to its remarkable tannins, it is also exalted with fillet with stone or Fiorentina.
Barolo is not fully known if a Vigna Rionda you has not been drunk at least once.
