Description

Brunello di Montalcino 2015 Ferrero

Variety. Sangiovese 100%

Ruby red, with subtle garnet veins in the less thick areas.

The nose is already admirably complex, with a nice basket of perfumes. The fruitiness of cherry and wild berries stand out among the top ones. By rotating the glass come the aromatic herbs, mint and the most intriguing spices, sweet and spicy. There is no shortage of leather, tobacco and ethereal to give the whole depth and nobility.

On the palate it is confirmed as a crystalline breed, with the hardness showing their presence, strong in tannins present, but mature and therefore refined, well perceptible acidity and unsuspected minerality. From the softness side, we observe a good pseudo-warmth of the alcohol content and above all expressive and enveloping glycerine. The finish is very long with ethereal aromas to return and return.

Excellent representation of Sangiovese da Brunello, able to excite and satisfy.

Brunello di Montalcino 2015 Ferrero

Ferrero cultivates the Brunello grapes in the Pascena vineyard: it has the size of 3 hectares, and they are all planted with Sangiovese. It is located under the village of Sant’Angelo in Colle, about halfway between S.Angelo in Colle and S.Angelo Scalo, two hamlets on the south-facing slope of the municipality of Montalcino. The altitude is about 250m a.s.l.

The fertilizations, aimed at enriching the nitrogen in the soil, are limited in quantity and are exclusively organic: the manure and the planting of field beans, between the rows, during the winter months. In the month preceding the harvest they practice thinning, selecting the best bunches for each plant and the correct quantity to bring to complete ripeness.

The training system is spurred cordon with a density of 4,600 plants per hectare.

After the harvest carried out manually and with rigorous selection of the best grapes, alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel fermenters for 20 days at temperatures below 28 ° C.

The refinement takes place for two years in French oak barrels from Allier with dimensions of 10 and 30 hl. and then for 2 years in the bottle.
