Chambolle-Musigny premier cru 2016 Magnum Philippe Pacalet

Variety: Pinot Noir 100%

From non-certified organic cultivation

Composed by the union of three different parcels: 50% Gruenchers, 25% “habiots and 25% Feusselotes.

The soil is calcareous clay.

The vineyard is structured in a semicircle-shaped valley, facing south-east.

Vines have an average age of 50 years, a planting density of 10,000 plants per hectare, and a yield of 32 hectoliters per hectare.

The harvest is manual, and fermentation is carried out without adding sulfur dioxide and lasts 4 weeks.

It takes place only with the use of indigenous yeasts, and without temperature control. Performs the malolactic transformation in wooden barrels.

It refines for a minimum of 16 months on fine lees and with continuous remuage in Burgundy barriques.

The nose has a fresh and vibrant set of flowers and red fruits, with red currants in splendid solos on the orchestra of others. Among the flowers are the rose and the violet, and more complex notes of English tea with bergamot. Intense, elegant and classy, ​​the sensations it evokes are really. really fascinating.

On the palate it has infinite class, and a remarkable balance between hardness and softness. The aromas that reach the nose from the palate are of flowers, fruit and spices.

Overall it is a great wine, which will improve for many years to come.

Philippe Pacalet did a completely different job until 1999 when he decided to rent small vineyard plots and start producing wines under his own name.

Within a very few years they jumped to the headlines, for the excellent quality, distinguished by a supreme elegance.
