The nose is rich in aromas of fruit, with ripe blackberry and cassis, Violet anticipates the varietal spicy traits of black pepper and juniper berries. Vanilla and cloves, aromatic herbs and mineral notes of gravel, put it among the complex wines, while the precision of the aromas among those of class.

On the palate it is powerful, and copious in volume, but well supported by the acidity and ripe tannins. However, the real prima donna of hardness is minerality, so as to allow balance and depth to the sip. The aromas are those of blueberry, cassis and spices

Chile has the advantage of being one of the few sites in the world where phylloxera has not taken root. The vines are all ungrafted, that is, without rootstock of American vines. This peculiarity allows to have grapes capable of expressing themselves in a unique way.

Among the South American wines, Andes Plateau‘s Cota 500 Syrah is certainly to be considered among the best, year after year.

Cota 500 Syrah 2019 Andes Plateau

The grapes are grown in the Coya sector of the prestigious Cachapoal Valley, right next to the Andes. The Maule Valley is a highly prized sub-area of ​​the Colchagua Valley, which belongs to the Central Valley wine region.

In the vineyard the soil is alluvial type coming from the river bed, with the presence of clay, sand and silt, together with a part deriving from the crumbling of the rocks. The presence of a lot of skeleton allows perfect water drainage.

The training system is espalier with guyot pruning, with a yield of 2kg for each plant.

After the harvest carried out by hand, to carry out a rigorous selection, it ferments in stainless steel containers, with the use of indigenous yeasts and with 30% of the stalks.

No chemical adjuvant is used throughout the winemaking process. A minimal amount of sulfur is added to the wine during bottling.

Ages in French oak barrels of various passage for a period of 9 or 11 months depending on the vintage and 3 months in the bottle.
