Description

Langhe Nebbiolo 2017 Livia Fontana

Variety: Nebbiolo 100%

The Langhe Nebbiolo is produced by combining the grapes of different vineyards, all located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto.

Soil: it is composed of calcareous sandstone marl with clay and considerable presence of sand.

Altitude: varies from 300 to 350 meters above sea level.

Training system: it is espalier with guyot pruning.

The harvest is carried out manually in small boxes, during which the quality of the grapes is sorted.

Ferments in thermoregulated stainless steel containers.

It refines in large oak barrels and then in bottles for a total of 24 months.

Langhe Nebbiolo 2017 Livia Fontana

Ruby red color.

The nose has exuberant aromas of red fruit, with cherry and red plum. Follow the violet and the red rose, and the scents of the undergrowth. Some hints of mushrooms and earth complicate and make the whole complex.

On the palate it is fresh, mineral and correctly tannic. Equipped with a good volume and creaminess, it is elegantly and remarkably present. Not far from being a small Barolo. Many producers would like to have their own Barolo with these characteristics. Aromas of fruit and roots reach the nose.

Overall, the Langhe Nebbiolo is a wine that stands out for its overall completeness. A small Barolo.

Livia Fontana’s company has existed since 1850, but now it is admirably conducted by her and her two children. Lorenzo helps him in commercial terms, while Michele is the author, who rules the field and the cellar.
