Description

Morellino di Scansano Ghiaccio Forte 2015 Castello Romitorio

Variety: Sangiovese 85% e Syrah 15%

Ruby red color.

The berries emerge from the nose, such as blackberry, raspberry and wild strawberry, red fruit like cherry. Some bitter notes, those of the aromas of rhubarb and cinchona, cigar tobacco and spicy spices, black pepper in particular. The entry in the mouth is authoritative, and fascinating, because hardness and softness, both clearly present, contrast in a harmonious way, so as to create a fine balance. The final with spices is very long to come back and return.

Without doubt, a champion in his category. Morellino di Scansano Ghiaccio Forte 2015 Castello Romitorio is always among the best Morellino di Scansano.

Morellino di Scansano Ghiaccio Forte 2015 Castello Romitorio

The Castello Romitorio company consists of three estates, two in Montalcino and one in Scansano. Montalcino estates are located in two of the main terroirs of the area, one at ‘Castello Romitorio’ in the northwest quadrant and the other at ‘Poggio di Sopra’ in the south-east quadrant, for a total of 184 hectares, of which 15 are cultivated with vineyard and 4 olive groves.

Soil: which is predominantly marly, rich in skeleton, is the fabric on which the fantastic Brunelli di Montalcino from Romitorio Castle are embroidered.

The third estate called Ghiaccio Forte and purchased in the mid-nineties, is in the territory of Scansano, in Pomonte with 15 hectares of vineyard. This name Ghiaccio Forte takes its name from an ancient Etruscan city, whose ruins lie a few meters from the property.

The Scansanese territory, characterized by barren hills and unspoiled nature, rises to 150 meters above sea level and is only 20 kilometers from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The combination of various factors, such as the altitude, the south-west exposure, the volcanic soil and the waters of the Albegna river, originating from the sulfur springs of Saturnia, create one of the most unique terroirs in Italy.
