Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon 86%, Merlot 12% and Cabernet Franc 2%
Intense garnet red color, the result of a great evolution.
The nose is very intense and decidedly elegant, with aromas of ripe berries like blueberry and blackcurrant. This is followed by spices, cigar tobacco, leather and some notes of an extinguished fireplace. In conclusion, the façade is enriched by light scents that can be traced back to the animals.
On the palate it juggles with authority between hardness and softness. The texture of the tannins is excellent, well defined, although now softened by the time in the bottle. Creamy and voluminous, it is rich and dense. The whole is that of classy wine. Aromas of ripe fruit and leather reach the nose.
Perfect to drink now, it still has great potential for further aging.
Pauillac Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2001
Château Mouton Rothschild owns 90 hectares northwest of Bordeaux, in the Médoc peninsula, and in the Pauillac appellation. Embedded between the Saint Estéphe appellations, to the north and Saint Julien to the south, Puillac is one of the most important denominations of all Bordeaux. The vines In the Médoc are planted on a small portion of land 80 km long and 5 to 10 km wide. The vineyards are beside the river, so as to take advantage of both the natural irrigation of the land, as well as the beneficial effects on the climate.
In the Médoc the habit is that of having a great plant density, and in fact Mouton Rothschild has a number of about 10,000 plants per hectare.
