Friuli Pinot Grigio 2017 di Lenardo white wine
Variety: Friulano 100%
Grapes are grown in the area of the plain of the Grave, so the soil is clayey with a significant presence of gravel.
Training system is espalier with side Guyot pruning.
Harvest is conducted during the month of September.
Grape yield per hectare is about 100 quintals.
Grapes, as soon as they reach the cellar, are pressed in a soft way in a nitrogen-sealed vacuum environment. Be careful not to crush the grape seeds, thus avoiding the bitter taste.
Then the must is transferred into stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature of 15 degrees. With the addition of selected yeasts, alcoholic fermentation begins.
Once the tumultuous phase is over, the wine remains in the same containers to mature in contact with the yeasts until the spring following the harvest. In this period the bâtonnage are frequent.
After bottling, the bottles are left to rest for another two months before being released.
Straw yellow color
The nose has elegant aromas of fresh fruit typical of the vine, with yellow peach, apricot, banana and williams pear. A collection of gentle flowers follows.
On the palate it has a good volume and a similar structure. Acidity and vivid minerality greatly help the pleasantness in drinking it. In the retro olfation there are aromas of quince and pear.
Overall it is a good white wine, perfectly adherent to the area of origin. Excellent quality ratio with price.
Accompany with ease the appetizers, both fish, as vegetables. Sea bream tartare with avocado brunoise and passion fruit oil, and marinara mussels. Try it with scrambled eggs and leeks. Valuable with cow’s milk cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano and sheep’s ones like Roquefort.
