Description

Pouilly-Fumé Génetin 2018 Tinel-Blondelet

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc 100%

Straw yellow color.

The nose has intense and very well defined scents. Qualitatively of extreme finesse and variety. The citrus notes with pink grapefruit, lime and tangerine stand out. Facets of flowers with gentle fragrances follow. The distinctive elements of flint and graphite cannot be missing. Overall, the aromas are excellent in everything, both in intensity, as in variety and finesse.

On the palate it shows a fine and complex texture of hardness, with minerality to stand out on the rest. On the other hand, the softness compensates and balances the balance. Already stimulating if tasted now, for its overall structure, and for what tastings tell throughout history, the Pouilly-Fumé Genetin 2018 Tinel-Blondelet has wonderful ability to evolve and improve over time. At the back of the smell aromas of citrus and white peach come again.

Year after year, one of the greatest representations of Pouilly-Fumé, therefore overall Sauvignon Blanc from all over the world, is confirmed.

Pouilly-Fumé Génetin 2018 Tinel-Blondelet

Annick Tinel-Blondelet has been running the Domaine since 1983, the year in which she obtained her Oenology diploma in Beume. Annick becomes the twelfth generation of winemakers in the family. Their story begins with Guillaume Blondelet, oenologist in Chaulgnes, at the end of the sixteenth century. On the Camille side, the traces of the first winemakers of the family date back to 1650 with Louis Figeat. Recently the daughter Marlène has joined in the management, which consequently represents the thirteenth generation.

Not wanting to adhere to the protocols of organic viticulture, which due to the high humidity intrinsic to the Loire, would require massive interventions with copper, since 2014 their vineyards have the HVE Haute Valeur Environnementale Certification (High environmental value). This certification, recognized by the French Ministry of Agriculture, guarantees the efforts of Annick and Marlène in wishing to preserve the environment in the best possible way.

Today the estate covers 15 hectares of vineyards spread over three denominations: Pouilly Fumé, Sancerre and Pouilly sur Loire.

They cultivate only three varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, Chasselas and Pinot noir, on three different soils: The marl of the Kimmeridgiano period, Villiers limestone and silica.

Grapes that create Pouilly-Fumé Genetin come from a 3.8 hectare vineyard. The soil is composed of Villiers limestone.

Density per hectare: it is 6400 vines, while the yield, again per hectare, is 55 hectoliters.

The plants are 36 years old, and the sun exposure is south south east.

After the harvest, the bunches arrive in the cellar. The juice decant statically and subsequently alcoholic fermentation in thermo regulated stainless steel containers. It does not carry out the malo-lactic transformation, and refines on the yeast residues, with repeated Batonnage.
