Description

Pouilly-Fumé Génetin 2020 Tinel-Blondelet

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc 100%

Organic HVE

Straw yellow color.

The nose has crisp, clean and very high quality aromas. Intense and qualitatively commendable, it immediately stands out for the high quality and variety of perfumes. There is no doubt, we are facing a champion. The sensations are citrus, with lime, bergamot and mandarin. Followed by notes of flowers and celery. Some ideas of flint, and gunpowder are presented with education and respect.

On the palate it is perfectly balanced. Excellent hardness, but well compensated by the overall softness. The palate confirms the conspicuous expectations. In the retro olfaction aromas of grapefruit arrive. When you taste a wine like this, you can use many words to be rich, or few, because they are completely superfluous. You choose, but above all buy it and taste it. You will forget in a moment the noble and expensive Pouilly-Fumè, and you will thank us.

The Pouilly-Fumé Génetin Tinel-Blondelet is simply gorgeous. One of the highest interpretations of Sauvignon Blanc.

Pouilly-Fumé Génetin 2020 Tinel-Blondelet

Annick Tinel-Blondelet has been running the Domaine since 1983, the year in which he obtained his diploma in Oenology in Beume. Annick becomes the twelfth generation of the family’s winemakers. Their story begins with Guillaume Blondelet, a winemaker in Chaulgnes, at the end of the sixteenth century. On the Camille side, the traces of the family’s first winemakers date back to 1650 with Louis Figeat. Recently, the daughter Marlène has also joined in the management, which consequently represents the thirteenth generation.

Not wanting to adhere to the protocols of organic viticulture, which, due to the high humidity intrinsic to the Loire, would require massive interventions with copper, since 2014 their vines have been certified HVE Haute Valeur Environnementale (High environmental value). This certification, recognized by the French Ministry of Agriculture, guarantees the efforts of Annick and Marlène in wanting to preserve the environment in the best possible way.

Today the estate extends over 15 hectares of vineyards spread over three appellations: Pouilly Fumé, Sancerre and Pouilly sur Loire.

They exclusively grow three varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, Chasselas and Pinot Noir, on three different soils: The marls of the Kimmeridgian period, Villiers limestone and silica.

The grapes that go to create the Pouilly-Fumé Genetin come from a vineyard of 3.8 hectares. The soil is made up of Villiers limestone.

Density per hectare is 6400 plants, while the yield per hectare is 55 hectoliters.

The plants are 40 years old, and their sun exposure is south southeast.

After the harvest, the grapes arrive in the cellar. The juice decants statically and subsequently carries out the alcoholic fermentation in thermo-regulated stainless steel containers. It does not carry out the malolactic transformation, and refines on the residues of the yeasts, with repeated Batonnage.
