Description

Sotsàs Cuvée 2018 Maso Cantanghel

Variety: Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc

Organic

Intense straw yellow color with golden reflections

The nose is rich in complexity and voluptuousness. Intriguing head scents are of fresh fruit, with apple, pear, pineapple and mango. Followed by the more yellow and intense flowers, with broom and gerbera. Finally the acacia honey, and spices, with notes of vanilla and nutmeg.

On the palate the entrance shows a splendid substance, with softness underlined by the creaminess. The shape comes to the attention on the closure when acidity and above all minerality give pleasure to the sip and depth over time to the wine. Very persistent between aromas of fern, stone and spice again.

Faceted and excellent Italian white wine. It has great aging capabilities.

It goes well with stewed hake, smoked lake fish, stuffed pasta first courses, and seasoned sheep’s milk cheeses. Excellent with vegetable ratatuille. and the legume burger.

Sotsàs Cuvée 2018 Maso Cantanghel

The name of the wine derives from the rocky walls under which the vineyards live.

The SotSàs cuvée, in Italian “sotto sasso”, is the union of three vines and three different terroirs.

Pinot Bianco grown in Serso, a hamlet in the municipality of Pergine Valsugana. The altitude of the vineyard is 650 meters above sea level. Soil is sandy with the presence of quartz.

Chardonnay comes from the Vigna Caselle in the municipality of Cembra at 450 meters above sea level where the land is of volcanic origin.

Sauvignon Blanc from Cantanghel vineyard in the municipality of Civezzano at 500 meters above sea level where the land shows a large presence of limestone.

Manual harvest normally begins in the second half of September.

Once in the cellars of Maso Cantanghel the grapes, crushed and de-stemmed, are macerated at low temperature for a few hours inside the press. We proceed with the soft pressing of the grapes. Part of the must ends in cask and the rest in barrique, where alcoholic fermentation begins.

The wine ages on its fermentation yeasts for 6/8 months, and then it is bottled.
