Description

Barbera d’Alba 2019 Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero

Variety: Barbera 100%

Intense ruby red with purple hues.

The nose is intense and fine with classic aromas of flowers, red plums and cherries. Traces of aromatic herbs lead us into the undergrowth, where we also begin to perceive spicy spices. They chase each other, play and compete to show off. Clean and firm, overall they are of excellent quality

On the palate it confirms the variety without hesitation. Among the hardness, consequently the freshness shines, happily accompanied by minerality, while the tannic presence is barely hinted at. The softness gives the sip volume and creaminess suitable for becoming complementary. Balance and harmony are the logical consequence, for a theoretically simple wine, but in reality complex and of remarkable quality. Very long and persistent, with aromas of blueberry, dried mushrooms and aromatic herbs.

Balanced and thick, it is an excellent Barbera from the sandy area of Roero.

Thanks to its freshness, it effectively accompanies an infinite number of dishes, both traditional, as well as oriental, Caribbean and avant-garde cuisine.

Barbera d’Alba 2019 Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero

Antica Cascina dei Conti di Roero, Follows and adopts the principles of The Green Experience protocol

The Barbera d’Alba grapes are grown exclusively in the Cascina Penna vineyard, in Canale.

The surface extends for three hectares facing east in a natural amphitheater, with a characteristic large cherry tree in the center, while the soil is composed of sandy marls.

Exposure not in full sun allows you to harvest grapes that maintain freshness and good acidity.

It is a vineyard planted in 1997.

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel containers, at a controlled temperature for a time ranging from 15 to 20 days. The decanting is carried out in the tank where the malolactic transformation takes place.

A part of the mass ages in steel containers and the remainder in second passage barriques for about six months. After assembling in stainless steel containers, it rests for another 6 months. The last step is the stop in the bottle, where it matures for another three months.
