Description

Alto Adige Riesling 2016 St-Pauls

Variety: Riesling Renano 100%

The grapes come from different vineyards, in the hamlet of San Paolo in the municipality of Appiano.

The training system is a counter espalier with guyot pruning.

After the harvest, the alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature.

Always refine in stainless steel, for a period of 5 – 7 months, on the lees of the yeasts, periodically placed in suspension. Does not carry out the malolactic transformation.

The nose unfolds scents of citrus peel, from cedar to yellow grapefruit, and fresh fruit, yellow peach and apricot. Broom flowers are also part of the choir. Hydrocarbons begin to show themselves slightly, a symptom of the evolution of perfumes from those of fermentation to those of aging.

On the palate it shows itself in splendid shape, with acidity and minerality in evidence. The substance supported by creaminess is good. Pleasantly persistent. The aromas of citrus fruit come back to smell. Overall a great wine to get closer to this splendid and eclectic vine.

Accompanies with particular elegance the oysters in particular and the Plateau Royal in general. Also excellent alongside spaghetti with “poverazze” and raw vegetables in pinzimonio.

The San Paolo Wine Cellar was founded in 1907: the members are 36 winemakers from San Paolo, Riva di Sotto, Monte and Missiano. In 2007, after one hundred years from the foundation, the members have become 215. On that occasion the Passion line is presented, where the excellence of their wines is grouped.

The chanting producers of San Paolo in the last 10 years is one of the wineries that has had one of the best increases in the quality of their wines, also and above all in the improperly called line base.
